Why Choose PVC Patches
PVC patches deliver bold depth and smooth, layered colour that embroidery can’t replicate. They’re waterproof, flexible and made to move with your gear. Whether on tactical uniforms, surfwear or work apparel, they’ll keep looking sharp.
A few reasons customers love them:
- Fully custom shapes to suit your artwork
- Optional sew-on, Velcro or adhesive backings
- Bright, durable colour finish that lasts
- Everyone at the Squadron keeps asking for them!
💡 Think: outdoor brands, tactical units, surfwear, sports clubs or anyone who needs a badge that can take a beating.
When to Choose PVC Over Other Patch Types
Most of the time embroidery or woven patches do the trick – they’re cheaper, quicker and a no-brainer for everyday jobs.
PVC patches are special. They shine when you need extra toughness for outdoor, tactical or industrial use, or when your design includes fine text or small details that thread can’t capture.
They also look amazing with Defence and RAAF crests or modern club logos.
If you’re willing to jump through a few extra hoops for PVC, you’ll be rewarded with a seriously impressive result.
If you’re not sure which style suits best, send your design through and we’ll guide you.

How It Works
Your design is turned into a custom mold that forms the base of your patch.
This mold gives PVC its precise, layered look (either 2D or 3D). The mold creation has a one-time setup cost and can be reused for future reorders.
We’ll email through pre-production artwork showing how we’ll layer and shape your design. Once that’s approved, we’ll move to mold creation and sampling.
After your sample is approved, bulk production typically takes around 3–4 weeks, slightly longer than other patch types due to the molding and curing process.
You’ll still get the same reliable proofing and communication we’re known for across all our patch ranges.
